Walking Tours of Hong Kong

image image

Walking is the best way to experience a city. It allows you to take in all the sounds and smells, and you can stop any time to have a closer look at something. There is just so much to see even in short distances: the shops, the people, the buildings, the trees.

All my tours are catered to your interests, and designed to show you not so much the main tourist spots, but more of the more hidden spots. Your itinerary may include wet markets such as the Wan Chai market, street markets such as Cross Street, Tai Yuen Street, Ladies' Market, Flower Market and the Bird Market. We will probably visit one or more temples, such as the Man Mo temple in Sheung Wan, the Pak Tai temple in Wan Chai or the Tin Hau temple in Yaumatei where I will introduce you to the basics of taoism. Some peace and tranquility can be found in city parks such as Hong Kong Park and Kowloon Park.

For distances too long to walk, I rely on Hong Kong's excellent public transport system: buses, trams, ferries and trains all link together to make an extensive and fine grained network.

Regular tours last from four to eight hours, but can be extended to 12 hours for a long day of sight-seeing.
